Fear can arise from the past. Something that took place earlier still frightens us. Every time we’re reminded of it, we feel anxious—powerlessness to do anything about it. Sometimes fear arises in the present. Something happening now frightens us.
Fear is not our enemy. We can befriend our fear and allow it to be present without any trying to push it away. Being compassionate is key to overcoming fear, whether it’s from the past or the present.
Cuong Lu will guide you to deal with fear in seven steps. In each stage, we will learn practices to help us see fear as an emotion, like anger, love, and trust. When we see fear more clearly, it can become an ally on the path of practice.
