Become an invisible monk

and discover real happiness

Short talks by Cuong Lu

"It isn’t the robes, it’s the compassion that makes someone a No Word monk."
Although deeply rooted in the Buddha’s wisdom, based on Cuong Lu’s Zen training, a No Word monk does not only meditate in the zendo (meditation hall) or while sitting cross-legged on a cushion. No Word Zen takes all forms and no form at the same time. A No Word monastic lives in society while practicing the way of invisibility, embodying the insight of the tradition without wearing it on his sleeve. A No Word monk always helps those who are struggling with pain, grief, stress, or burnout. It isn’t the robes, it’s the compassion that makes someone a No Word monk, a “true person of no rank.”

No Word Zen Practice Center

No Word Zen Practice Center, founded in Southern France, is a sanctuary from society and an oasis of peace. Located atop a beautiful mountain with miraculous views, it is an embodiment of the authentic wisdom transmitted from the Buddha to Thich Nhat Hanh, and through him, to Cuong Lu.

Cuong wants to build this into a spiritual home where many people can come to feel refreshed, and to cultivate insight and compassion. These bodhisattvas, in turn, can help hundreds, if not thousands of others be free from confusion and suffering.
